2019 Ministry Report
2019 was a good year. We worked hard and saw God do great things. Lakewood Chapel had its best year of attendance, with many connecting to God. The Word was preached, with Sunday School and Kid’s Choir for the youth. There were baptisms, child dedications, weddings, and funerals. Each Sunday we freely offered a fellowship lunch to anyone who could stay. We prayed for the sick, visited those in the hospital, nursing home, and the incarcerated. Each week Sue encouraged single Moms and agreed with many in prayer. There was a monthly Women’s Bible Study and Men’s Prayer Breakfast. We assisted many with their housing, offering discounted rent to families in Illinois. We’ve opened our food pantry and gave away gift cards. We gave financial support to missionaries serving abroad. In 2020 we look forward to the expansion of Teen Rescue “Bringing the Runaway Home”. It’s fitting to reflect on “donuts is the dough” beginnings, as a way of being thankful, while seeing how far God has brought us. We started with a few dollars and it’s grown significantly. The church’s greatest asset is God’s people. We love God’s people and count it a blessing to do life with them.
